AMC

ABC Soaps In Depth reports that AMC fans were a breath away from saving some of the characters lost through the move to California.  The alternate choice for relocating was Connecticut in a location that is less than an hour outside of Manhattan.  The state government was in the process of determining the fate of a 30% tax credit for film, television and advertising production that had been on the books since 2006.  The decision was made shortly after the deal to relocate to California was finalized and at that point, there was no turning back.

As luck would have it, Jennifer Bassey (Marian) relocated to California after her character was sent away to Oak Haven for trying to shoot Kendall (and shooting Marissa instead).  Bassey is in contact with AMC execs still and is hopeful for her character to return to the show to plot revenge against Adam for killing Stuart.

Don’t expect the Greenlee-Erica run for Ryan’s heart to drag out for long.  Ryan supposedly makes his choice on Valentine’s Day.

It’s JR’s illness that takes the forefront in February.  Something new is revealed about Adam and that is what brings Brooke back to town.  Annie sees green with Adam’s ex around and feels like an outcast.  Tuesday, February 23rd, is the date given for Brooke’s return, played by Julia Barr.

Watch for a couple of SORAS situations to hit.  AMC is actively casting for a new Emma and a new Little Adam.  It was known in advance that the kids would not be making the move to LA and that recasts would be needed.

GH

When asked by Soap Opera Weekly what his was was for his character in 2010, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) said, “I wish for my character not to get killed.   The front burner is a nice place to be and “alive” is a nice way to be on it.”

When asked the same question, Brandon Barash (Johnny) said, “I hope Johnny doesn’t leave the mob.  I like the gritty, edgy, pissed-off Johnny.”

Jonathan Jackson gave voice to many GH fans with his answer.  He said simply, “I would wish for Lucky and Laura to reconnect.”  Somethings tells me that if they do, it will be by phone.  Between Luke coming up with an extra son by Holly, Lucky getting his heart broken into tiny bits and stomped on, Nikolas being the one to do it and Lulu dating the local crime lord’s son, I think it might be time for Laura to stop touring the world with Scotty and come back home.  Maybe she’s holed up in Texas with Felicia at the “Who Cares?  Home for Moms.”

The very deeelicious Father Coates (Anthony Michael Jones) will be back in action for Baby Josslyn’s christening.  Lady Jane (Barbara Tarbuck) will also put in a showing.

Steven Burton (Jason) had some kind words to say about the changes that have taken place in soap operas as years have passed and the stigma that used to prevail about soap actors in general.  He told ABC Soaps In Depth, “There definitely was a stigma when soaps were overly-dramatic music with a lot of very pretty people who couldn’t act.  But those days are gone, because there’s no room for it any more.  Audiences are smart, and there are so many other things to compete with that if you’re not telling a good story and people aren’t real and good actors, it just ain’t going to work.”

Bob Guza (Head Writer) says that Johnny is going to “take action to resurrect a lifestyle” for himself and will find an unlikely ally.  He says it is someone who is already on canvas and is “adrift,” but will turn out to be “as useful to Johnny as Jason is to Sonny.”  Place your bets, folks.

There has been some confusion about a news bit I posted saying that Zoe Ward, Maya Ward’s half-sister, would be a love interest for Michael.  Fans immediately called foul since Michael is AJ’s biological son and a blood line icky seemed close at hand.  Since originally, Maya was said to be Edward’s granddaughter and Zoe was her half-sister, it was presumed that the half that isn’t related to Maya also is not related to Edward.  ABC Soaps In Depth now reports that instead of this being the case, it is now being said that Zoe is the daughter of Justus’ sister, Faith.  Agh.  Get me a GPS.  I’m getting lost here!

OLTL

Kirsten Alderson has formed quite a bond with the triplets who play her onscreen daughter, Hope.  Molly, Tess and Madeline Sullivan are all dear to the young actress (to the point that she can tell them apart on immediate sight), but Molly is the one who has really captured Alderson’s heart due to her natural love of being around her co-actors.  She does, however, call Brandon Buddy (Cole) “Dada,” which the actress describes to Soap Opera Weekly as “a little uncomfortable.”

Kelley Missal (Danielle) was homeschooled until the very day that she screen tested with Florencia Lozano (Tea) for her One Life to Live role.  Execs were so impressed with that screen test that they offered her the role on the spot.

Huh.  Is this an inside gay joke?  If so, I’m evidently not gay enough to know (ha ha).  When ABC Soaps In Depth asked actors what act they would try if they ran away to the circus, Florencia Lozano (Tea) said, “Todd and Tea would have their own freak show” and Trevor St John (Todd) said, “I’d be the beard and she’d be the lady.”  lol whut?

When you look at Farah Fath (Gigi’s) body, keep in mind that she claims she has not worked out once in the past 2 years and eats some type of dessert every day.  She says she respects vegetarians, but would rather die than become one.  She also does her own make up when acting and has since she was 18.  After going through 5 cars in the 7 years she lived in Los Angeles, Fath now chooses not to drive at all.   Evidently, hair is big for the actress because in 2005, she spent over $10,000 on hair expenses alone and she has 3 hair colorists:  one in Beverly Hills, one in Manhattan and one in Lexington.  This all comes from Soaps in Depth.

And that’s all I gots!  Have a happy week!
